Watch: Clemens Hits First Home Run of the Year, Extends Philadelphia Phillies Lead

Philadelphia Phillies infielder Kody Clemens hit his first home run of the season to extend his team's lead over the Colorado Rockies.

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Kody Clemens, the son of the legendary Roger Clemens, blasted his first home run of the season.

His third inning solo home run extended the Phillies lead to 2-0 over the Colorado Rockies. Philadelphia is eyeing a series win on Sunday against Colorado in a four-game set.

Clemens' home run travelled 372 feet to right field with an exit velocity of 103.8-mph and a launch angle of 35 degrees. It came off of a Jose Urena 95.6-mph sinker.

It was an encouraging display of power from Clemens who was slashing just .063/.118/.063 coming into Sunday's game. His third inning home run was the fifth of his Major League career.

That shot should help boost his confidence as the Phillies need all the help they can get offensively after seeing the majority of their lineup struggle with consistency.

Take a look at the home run below.
