Castellanos Sets MLB Record As Phillies Eliminate Braves in NLDS

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos did Bryce Harper one better in their Game 4 victory over Atlanta in the NLDS.

Amid Bryce Harper’s two-home run night on Wednesday and his stare at Atlanta shortstop Orlando Arcia, something was lost in that 10-2 Game 3 victory — Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos also had two home runs.

Well, on Thursday in Game 4 of the National League Division Series, Castellanos actually did Harper one better. Castellanos hit two home runs for the second straight game and became the first player in Major League postseason history to hit multiple home runs in back-to-back playoff games.

All with his son, Liam, in attendance for both games.

With their 3-1 victory over the Braves, the Phillies won the series, 3-1, to advance to the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. 

His first home run on Thursday came in the bottom of the fourth inning and his solo home run helped tie the game at 1-1.

Castellanos' second home run came in the bottom of the sixth inning and helped give the Phillies a 3-1 lead. After that, the camera cut to Liam, who did the 'Jordan Shrug' after his fourth home run in two nights.

His first home run on Wednesday came in bottom of the third inning and tied the game at 1-1.

His second home run came in the bottom of the eighth and gave the Phillies a 9-2 lead.

The Phillies will open the NLCS with the Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park on Monday at 1 p.m. eastern. The winner of the best-of-seven series will go to the World Series. The Phillies are defending National League champions.
