Philadelphia Phillies Linked to Reunion With Mets Closer at Trade Deadline

In this story:
The Philadelphia Phillies could soon pursue a reunion with a former player at this season's MLB trade deadline.
According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the New York Mets could be willing to move closer David Robertson and the Phillies would make for a great match.
If Philadelphia does in fact trade for Robertson, it would be the second season in a row that the Phillies unloaded prospect capital to bring the reliever into the fold for a postseason run.
However, it might just work if Philadelphia wanted to add another talented reliever to an already loaded bullpen.
"It remains to be seen whether the Mets decide to become big-time sellers (think Max Scherzer and/or Justin Verlander), but the 38-year-old Robertson is headed back to free agency after signing a one-year, $10 million deal with New York last offseason," writes Feinsand. "Robertson has excelled in both setup and closing roles and has a wealth of postseason experience, making him a fit for virtually every contender out there."
As for the Phillies, they should use their prospect capital towards obtaining another proven starter and a corner outfield bat. For what feels like the first time in a long time, the bullpen feels solid.
Adding the bat and starter helps solidify their two weakest areas on the active roster and helps ensure they have the best chance of chasing down another postseason spot down the stretch.
Adding a 37-year-old reliever for the second time in as many trade deadlines doesn't feel like the best use of resources nor make much sense with the current roster make up.
