Former Cincinnati Reds Pitcher and Coach Don Gullett Has Died

He was a member of the Reds organization for 24 years.

CINCINNATI — Former Reds pitcher Don Gullett died on Wednesday. The 73-year-old spent 24 years in the organization as a player, minor league instructor and coach. 

Gullett is a three-time World Series Champion and was a member of the Reds from 1970-76. He won two championships with the Reds on the "Big Red Machine," before winning a third title with the New York Yankees. 

"Don dedicated 24 years to this franchise as a player, coach and minor league instructor," Reds CEO Bob Castellini said in a statement. "An anchor on the pitching staff of one of the greatest baseball teams in history, his contributions to our rich tradition, our city and his community will never be forgotten."
