The 21-year-old does not look timid. Jackson, who is a product of the Georgia Bulldogs, continues to show the baseball world why he is the real deal. In his first game, Jackson knew he hit it out of the ballpark in the top of the fifth inning. He finished the game going 2-for-3.

The home run went deep left-center field. His ability to see the ball well and make it look so easy would be music to the ears of the Rockies front office if this is what they will be getting. When we see a player like Jackson, we see All-Star potential.

As a catcher for the Bulldogs, he's the first Division I catcher to hit over 25 home runs and 25 stolen bases in a season. Jackson started in all 67 games for the Bulldogs. Colorado selected him as the 37th overall pick in the first round. The front office landed a big splash by getting Jackson. He will benefit a lot from learning from Hunter Goodman, who is the star catcher for the Rockies.

Goodman is trying to establish himself not only as the best-hitting catcher ever, but also to put himself in a position as a Rockies legend and help the team reach October Baseball in the future. Competition at the catcher position or not, both Goodman and Jackson are terrific hitters who are in their 20s.

Jackson, just like Goodman, has the ability to hit more than one home run in a game. He's a prolific hitter who loves the long ball. During his sophomore season in 2025, Jackson hit two home runs in a game against Florida Gulf Coast and West Georgia, and the Bulldogs won both games. On defense, Jackson was no stranger; during his final season with the Bulldogs, he fielded .997 in 593 total chances with just two errors.

Jackson's home run on Tuesday is the first of many to come. Not every single game will be amazing, but he is going to answer the bell at every professional level. He has an intense hunger for success. The work ethic and discipline we see in this prospect are something to admire and appreciate.

The next game for Jackson and Single-A Fresno Grizzlies will be at Wednesday afternoon against the San Jose Giants. Jackson has a 2.800 OPS to start his career in the pros.
