Rob Gough completes most expensive sports card transaction in history

From 5 cents to $5.2 million dollars, the 1952 Mickey Mantle card has sold for a record setting amount. The serial entrepreneur and actor known for his DOPE clothing and CBD line, Rob Gough, is now the man who completed the most expensive sports card transaction in history.

Gough who has been collecting sports cards since he was a child, always dreamed of owning one of baseball card’s holy grails. On Thursday, he purchased a PSA Grade 9, 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle for a record amount of $5.2 million. The card previously sold for $2.8 million in 2018 to an unidentified buyer, who then sold it to Gough in a deal brokered by PWCC Marketplace. The baseball card is one of nine known in its condition and according to Jesse Craig, director of business development at PWCC Marketplace, it's the nicest looking 1952 Topps Mantle PSA 9 in existence.

How does it feel to own the Mona Lisa of sports cards and what's the next item Gough wants to add to his collection? Gough joins Sports Illustrated host Kaitlin O'Toole to discuss investing in baseball cards, his take on sports fashion and plans for his next purchase.
