New York Yankees Provide Another Judge Update

The New York Yankees could be without their captain for quite some time.

According to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, superstar outfielder Aaron Judge received another PRP injection in his injured toe on Thursday, with another ligament in the toe bothering him.

Aaron Judge had another PRP injection in his toe during yesterday’s off-day, per Aaron Boone. There is a second ligament that has been bothering him. Still no timetable for return.

Judge has not played since June 3, a 6-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He sustained the injury in that game while making a catch in right field and crashing into the bullpen fence. On June 7, he was officially placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 4.

Also reported by Hoch, Yankees manager Aaron Boone didn’t rule out Judge playing in the All-Star Game, which is scheduled for July 11 in Seattle.

“That said, I don’t know,” Boone said. “I think he could be back in a week, he could be back in four (weeks), but I don’t know.”

Asked if Aaron Judge could potentially return before the July 11 All-Star Game, Aaron Boone said: “I think there’s a shot for that. That said, I don’t know. I mean, I think he could be back in a week. He could be back in four. I don’t know."

It will certainly be more than a week, though, as Judge still needs to perform range-of-motion exercises and other treatments, which are being put on hold after the latest injection in the toe.

Me talking: It will not be a week. Boone also said Judge needs to perform range-of-motion exercises, pool work, balancing, etc. And he needs to wait on all that right now because of the latest PRP injection.

The Yankee offense has struggled greatly without Judge in the lineup, even with the return of Giancarlo Stanton. Judging from these reports, the lineup will need to snap out of their slump without their best player, as he will be out for longer than expected.
