Dana White: No deal in place for Conor McGregor to fight at UFC 200

Hours after Conor McGregor tweeted that he was “back on UFC 200,” UFC president Dana White told the Los Angeles Timesthat there is no deal in place for McGregor to return, calling McGregor’s tweet “not true.”
“We haven’t talked [to] Conor or his manager since the press conference,” White said. “I don’t know why he would tweet that.”
McGregor tweeted last Monday that he was walking away from the sport before he fought Nate Diaz at UFC 200, and was subsequently pulled from the event for failing to appear at a press conference. Days later, McGregor announced that he has not retired and never considered stepping away from the ring.
“I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote,” McGregor said in a statement. “I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting. There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the...shop.”

Diaz defeated McGregor, the current UFC welterweight champion, at UFC 196. Over the weekend, Diaz said he still wanted to fight McGregor at UFC 200.
