Trick or Treat
Emmanuel "Manny" Yarbrough
The sports world has no shortage of scary sights, and with Halloween 2007 upon us, SI.com decided to pull out some of the more frightening images. At 6-foot-8 and a weight between 600 and 822 pounds, Manny presented big problems for his sumo wrestling and MMA opponents. He was the 1995 World Amateur Sumo Champion and is considered to be one of the most famous Sumo wrestlers outside Japan.

Dennis Rodman in a dress
To promote his literary tour-de-force, Bad As I Wanna Be, Rodman showed up at a New York bookstore in 1996 in a horse-drawn carriage, wearing a wedding dress and a wig and claimed he was marrying himself. The stunt, one of Rodman's most egregious displays of androgyny, landed him on Mr. Blackwell's list of the worst-dressed women of 1996.
Throughout his boxing career the charismatic Hopkins entered the ring draped in a black robe, costume mask and executioner's hood -- not to mention the accompanying men carrying swords. In July Hopkins (48-4-1, 32 KOs) beat Winky Wright in a 12-round unanimous decision. Here's the scariest thing of all: Hopkins is 42.
No, this isn't Ashley Judd but give this Kentucky fan props for a paint job worthy of the best of Halloween.
Perhaps inspired by Rodman's example, Bonds dressed up as Paula Abdul during spring training this year to judge the San Francisco Giants spin-off of the hit Fox show ''American Idol,'' called Giants Idol.
The south end zone of McAfee Coliseum is known as The Black Hole. The fans dress only in black and have been known to, well, distract the opposing team by any means necessary. "Batteries, chicken bones, coins, you name it," Jets center Kevin Mawae told the New York Times in 2003. "I've had it all. You just hope you don't get backed up, and when you do, you keep your helmet on."
The unknown Dolphin fans
Can you blame these Dolphin fans for hiding their faces following a Week 7 mauling by the Patriots? And the season is only going to get uglier.

Imagine this frightful sight as you drove to the lane. At 7'7, Muresan joined Manute Bol as the tallest man to play in the NBA. In perfect casting, he played Max Zamphirescu in the 1998 film, My Giant.
Gerry Cheevers mask
The goalie sported this scary mask while playing with the Boston Bruins in the 1970's. Stitches, representing where Cheevers would have likely been cut had he not wore the mask, were added in black marker each time he took one in the face or on the noggin."
Claiming he didn't like how his face was looking, Mike Tyson got a tribal tattoo prior to his 2003 fight against a tomato can named Clifford Etienne. "I just wanted to put something on my face," said Tyson, who beat Etienne 49 seconds into round one, his final professional victory in the ring. In more frightful news that night, just before Tyson and Etienne entered the ring, Tonya Harding made her pro boxing debut.
