SI's Best Shots from Figure Skating Finals
Abbott put on an impressive performance to win his second straight U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Spokane, Wash., and with it a spot on the Vancouver Olympic team.
Evan Lysacek finished second and is the United States' best hope for an Olympic gold medal since Brian Boitano won in '88.
Abbott opened up his program with a quadruple toe loop jump, landing it more easily than some guys do triples, and also did a triple axel-triple toe combination.
Weir is on his way to the Vancouver Olympics, helping the U.S. form its strongest team since Brian Boitano's days.
Wong came in 10th place in the free skate and in 10th overall.
Hochstein came in 7th place overall with a score of 192.73, well off Abbott's winning score of 263.66.
Razzano came in 17th place in the free skate and 15th in the overall results.
Adam Rippon had a better score than third-place overaall finisher Johnny Weir in the free skate, but couldn't overcome the lead Weir had amassed in the short program.
Rachel Flatt (second from left) and Mirai Nagasu (far left) finished first and second, respectively, at the U.S. Women's Figure Skating Championships. Ashley Wagner (third from left) and Sasha Cohen were third and fourth.
Rachael Flatt won the women's championship by performing brilliantly in her routine in the long program.
The bronze medalist at junior worlds, Ashley Wagner also finished third in Spokane.
Sasha Cohen nailed her short program but had too many errors in the long.
