Nominate an athlete for Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd!

Since our inception 60 years ago, Sports Illustrated has recognized the best up-and-coming amateur athletes from around the country. Faces in the Crowd first appeared in the magazine in 1956 and over the years we’ve featured many individuals who have gone on to athletic greatness, including: Tiger Woods, Herschel Walker, Andy Roddick, Kevin Garnett, Missy Franklin, Wilma Rudolph, Jack Nicklaus, Bobby Fischer, Michelle Kwan, Billie Jean King, Greg LeMond, Bill Walton, Lew Alcindor (now known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), Arthur Ashe, Terry Bradshaw, Chris Evert, Steve Prefontaine, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Magic Johnson, Carl Lewis, John McEnroe, Paul Pierce, Tim Tebow, Jennie Finch, Allyson Felix, Michelle Wie and more.

We’ve also highlighted countless athletes whose glory days may never extend beyond the high school, college, or masters level -- the athletes who play simply for the love of the game -- and these everyday athletic heroes are the lifeblood of Faces in the Crowd just as much as the future stars.

Do you know an outstanding coach or amateur athlete who has recently made a mark on the field and deserves to be spotlighted in Faces? Please see below for nomination instructions:

To nominate an individual for an upcoming edition of Faces in the Crowd, please email editor Alexandra Fenwick with a name, age, gender, hometown, sport, school and all relevant contact information, as well as a short summary of the athlete’s recent accomplishments.

Due to the volume of submissions, we regret that we are unable to respond to every nomination.
