NBA Trade Deadline 2011
Deron Williams
The Nets shocked the NBA world by nabbing Utah's star point guard Deron Williams for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors and two first-round picks. The deal went through a day after New Jersey's failed attempt to trade for Carmelo Anthony, and less than a year after its unsuccessful bid to lure LeBron James in free agency.
Chauncey Billups, Carmelo Anthony
Ending months of speculation, the Knicks completed a trade for Carmelo Anthony on Feb. 21. The deal netted the Knicks Anthony, Chauncey Billups, center Shelden Williams, forward Renaldo Balkman, guard Anthony Carter and forward Corey Brewer from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Nate Robinson, Kendrick Perkins
In a shocking move that reportedly left Boston's veterans unhappy, Celtics president Danny Ainge decided to send the league's best defensive center to Oklahoma City for forwards Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic. Perkins, who was recently sidelined with a strained ligament in his left knee, missed most of the first half of the season to recover from ACL surgery in his right knee last summer. While his sudden departure leaves Boston's title hopes in question, it provides the Thunder the powerful center they've longed for.
Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic
Perkins' presence in the paint and locker room may not be replaced, but 24-year-old Green has a shot at becoming part of Boston's nucleus. The Celtics have been in need of another wing scorer to back up Paul Pierce, and Green could fill that role. As for Krstic, his play has been limited in Oklahoma City, and though he's a solid shooter from deep and a decent defender down low, he has a long way to go to filling the defensive void left by Perkins.
Baron Davis
The Los Angeles Clippers unloaded point guard Baron Davis to the Cleveland Cavaliers for guard Mo Williams and forward Jamario Moon. As part of the trade, the Clippers also included an unprotected 2011 first-round pick.
Mo Williams, Jamario Moon
The Cleveland Cavaliers got some star power back when they traded point guard Mo Williams and Jamario Moon for Clippers point guard Baron Davis and L.A.'s 2011 first-round pick.
Mike Bibby, Jordan Crawford, Maurice Evans
The Wizards added a nice backup point guard Thursday, trading for point guard Mike Bibby, guard Jordan Crawford, guard/forward Maurice Evans and Atlanta's 2011 first-round draft pick. In return, the Hawks received Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong.
Kirk Hinrich, Hilton Armstrong
The Atlanta Hawks went on the defensive, trading for point guard Kirk Hinrich and center Hilton Armstrong. In return, they shipped veteran point guard Mike Bibby, guard Jordan Crawford, guard/forward Maurice Evans and their 2011 first-round pick to the Washington Wizards.
Gerald Wallace
The man they call "Crash" was shipped to the Blazers for forwards Joel Przybilla and Dante Cunningham, as well as two first-round draft picks. The Bobcats' second-leading scorer this season and their only All-Star in franchise history averaged 15.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game before the All-Star break.
Shane Battier
After four and half seasons with the Rockets, Battier was sent back to where his NBA career began. Houston also sent guard Ish Smith to Memphis in exchange for former No. 1 draft pick Hasheem Thabeet and a future first-round pick.
Aaron Brooks
Brooks, whose performance and playing time was tanking in Houston, was shipped to Phoenix, where he'll back up Steve Nash. In return, the Rockets received 24-year-old guard Goran Dragic and a first-round draft pick.
