Bio: Gonzaga | Junior | Center
Vitals: 7-0, 234 pounds
2012-13 Statistics: 18.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 steals, 63.1 percent shooting in 31 games.
Strengths: Olynyk might be the most offensively talented big man in the draft. He's polished in the low post, has great hands and his jumper extends all the way out to the college three-point line. An intelligent player with a strong motor, Olynyk finds a way to contribute on offense even when he doesn't have the ball.
Weaknesses: A lack of elite athleticism will hurt Olynyk on the next level. He was a poor shot-blocker in college and figures to be an even worse one in the pros. Scouts also worry about his ability to rebound in the pros and whether his numbers were inflated by weak competition.
What Scouts Say: "He's a big bastard, man. He shoots it. You have to hope you can get an average defender out of him. I'm not sure he wants any kind of contact, and I'm not sure about his mental toughness. He was a great interview. Really good dude. I enjoyed talking to him as much as anybody we've met with."
