Bulls' Joakim Noah, Pacers' Paul George headline 2014 All-Defensive teams

The NBA announced the 2014 All-Defensive teams on Monday, with three players making return appearances from last season.

The First Team was headlined by 2014 Defensive Player of the Year Joakim Noah, who led all vote-getters. The Bulls center was joined on the first team by Pacers forward Paul George, Clippers guard Chris Paul, Thunder forward Serge Ibaka and Warriors guard/forward Andre Iguodala.

Noah, Paul and Ibaka were all 2013 All-Defensive First Team selections, while George was a Second Team pick last year. This is the fourth All-Defensive First Team selection for Paul, the third for Ibaka and the second for Noah.

The 2014 Second Team includes Heat forward LeBron James, Rockets guard Patrick Beverley, Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard and Pacers center Roy Hibbert. Although 2014 marks James' sixth career All-Defensive nod, this year is the first time since 2008 that he was not an All-Defensive First Team selection. Meanwhile, Beverley, Butler, Leonard and Hibbert are all first-time All-Defensive selections.

Two 2013 First Team selections -- Knicks center Tyson Chandler and Grizzlies guard Tony Allen -- dropped out of the 2014 All-Defensive Teams, and Chandler didn't receive a single vote this year. Spurs forward/center Tim Duncan, Grizzlies center Marc Gasol, Celtics guard Avery Bradley and Grizzlies guard Mike Conley all fell off the 2013 Second Team in 2014.

A number of unexpected names showed up in the "also receiving votes" category: Rockets guard James Harden, Mavericks guard Monta Ellis, Warriors forward David Lee and Sixers guard Michael Carter-Williams.
