Stokes, who averaged 15.1 points and 10.6 rebounds at Tennessee last season, is a voracious rebounder and physical inside presence. The 6-foot-8, 263-pound power forward’s style of play should make a good fit for the Grizzlies' “Grit and Grind” ethos.
Stokes will join a frontcourt featuring Mark Gasol and Zach Randolph. Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that contract talks between the Grizzlies and Randolph have stalled. The star power forward could opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent.
