Ricky Rubio reportedly offered 4 years, $48M from Timberwolves
Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio has reportedly been offered $48 million over four years to stay in Minnesota but the Spaniard wants a longer and more lucrative deal, according to a report Monday night from Sean Deveney of SportingNews.com.
Rubio, who turns 22 in two weeks, has until Halloween -- days after the start of the regular season - to sign an extension to his rookie deal. He's reportedly seeking a five-year deal. But head coach Flip Saunders, who is also the team's president of basketball operations, isn't as in love with Rubio as past members of the Minnesota front office have been.

Word from Deveney is that Rubio wants a max deal to stay with the Wolves, which would pay him somewhere in the ballpark of $85 million over five years.
The free agent market next summer is working against Rubio's opportunity to leverage a deal now. Rajon Rondo, Jeremy Lin, Patrick Beverley and Kemba Walker will all likely be available then, and Monte Ellis can opt out, so the Wolves can look down other roads if a deal isn't made soon with Rubio.
