The Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly agreed to trade guard Luke Ridnour to the Charlotte Hornets for veteran forward Matt Barnes
Ridnour’s stay in Memphis was even shorter than that as he was just traded on Wednesday in a deal that sent him to the Grizzlies from Orlando. In exchange, Orlando acquired the rights to 2013 second-round pick Janis Timma.
According to Wojnarowski, Charlotte sent Ridnour and a 2016 second-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Jeremy Lamb, but Memphis plans to keep Barnes in final year of his deal. He is set to make $3.5 million for the 2015-16 season.
Ridnour is scheduled to make $2.75 million next season and that money becomes guaranteed if he is not waived on or before July 10.
Ridnour, 34, averaged four points in 14 minutes per game last season for the Magic.
The 35-year-old Barnes spent the last seasons three seasons with the Clippers.
He started 74 of the 76 games he appeared in, averaging 10.1 points and four rebounds per game, helping Los Angeles to the conference semifinals, where they blew a 3-1 series lead to the Houston Rockets.
