Watch: Raptors’ timeout erases DeRozan game-winner at Hornets
A potential game-winning three-pointer by DeMar DeRozan was erased by what turned out to be a game-losing timeout call.
Charlotte beat Toronto 109–99 in overtime at home after multiple members of the Raptors called timeout to nullify a DeRozan three at the end of regulation.
With five seconds remaining and the score tied at 90, DeRozan came up with the loose ball after Hornets guard Kemba Walker committed a turnover the ball near the three-point line. DeRozan immediately took off for the races and, sensing time was about to run out, pulled up just inside the half-court line for a one-legged three. His shot, which was lightly contested by Jeremy Lamb, swished through with 0.7 seconds remaining.

Unfortunately for Toronto, the referees quickly waved off the bucket, as Raptors guard Kyle Lowry and coach Dwane Casey could be seen calling for a timeout as soon as DeRozan got possession of the ball.
Lowry couldn’t hit a difficult three-pointer on the ensuing inbounds play, sending the game to overtime, where the Hornets prevailed.
Jeremy Lin led Charlotte with a game-high 35 points on 13-of-22 shooting, five rebounds and four assists. Walker added 27 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

DeRozan paced Toronto with a team-high 31 points on 12-of-25 shooting, five assists and four rebounds. Lowry added 20 points, seven assists and four rebounds.
Charlotte improved to 15–10 while Toronto fell to 16–11.
