Watch: Garnett gets standing ovation in possible last game in Boston
Celtics fan favorite Kevin Garnett may have made his final trip as a player to Boston on Monday night, and the fans paid tribute to him with a standing ovation in the fourth quarter.
Garnett did not play in the game because it was the second half of a back-to-back for the Timberwolves, but the fans still rose to their feet during a timeout late in Boston’s 113–99 win.
The ovation came while the TD Garden staff played the “Gino Time” video that Garnett is quite fond of. (ESPN.com’s Chris Forsberg has a good history of the Gino Time clip.) Typically the arena’s video board shows clips of fans in the stands dancing during the segment, but Garnett was shown instead on Monday.

After the game, Garnett called the moment “the cherry on top.”
Garnett, 39, has not said this season will be his last. He signed a two-year contract with the Timberwolves in July.
