Hornets’ Michael Kidd-Gilchrist dislocates right shoulder

Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist dislocated his right shoulder against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.

Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist dislocated his right shoulder in a 117–95 win against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, the team announced.

Indiana Pacers big man Ian Mahinmi fell on Kidd-Gilchrist’s right side in the third quarter before the Hornets star walked to the locker room. Kidd-Gilchrist finished the night with eight points, three rebounds and two assists.

Kidd-Gilchrist underwent surgery after dislocating and tearing his labrum the same shoulder in a preseason game in October. He returned to the lineup on Jan. 29.

The forward finished with eight points and three rebounds as Charlotte improved to 27–26. 

Kidd-Gilchrist is averaging 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in his six games coming into Wednesday’s contest. The Hornets signed Kidd-Gilchrist to a four-year, $52 million extension in the off-season.
