NBA owners will discuss putting advertisements on their teams’ jerseys during their meetings in Toronto this weekend, ESPN’s Darren Rovell and Brian Windhorst report

According to the report, owners received a memo from the league this week asking owners to share their thoughts on adding ads to the front of jerseys. The NBA will then decide whether the subject will be broached again at the board of governors meeting in April.

The uniforms at this weekend’s All-Star Game feature a small Kia logo on the left shoulder. WNBA and NBA D-League jerseys already feature advertisements, though they are much more noticeable.

In March 2014, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said it was “inevitable” that NBA jerseys will have advertisements in the future. The nine-year, $24 billion television deal the league signed in October 2014 included provisions for adding sponsors to jerseys
