Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving took to Twitter Wednesday to address rumors surrounding himself and singer Kehlani Parrish.

The R&B singer PartyNextDoor posted a since-deleted photo on Instagram on Monday that appeared to show himself and Parrish laying together in a bed. Kehlani had been romantically linked to Irving in the past, and later Monday posted another since-deleted photo implying that she attempted suicide.

Irving, in a series of tweets, addressed the situation and said he and Parrish were not dating at the time the initial photo was posted. He offered positive thoughts for Parrish and her family.

“It's been hard to see what's been going on and not address the truth,” Irving wrote. “I do not justify the picture or what dude did to try and spark all of this non sense that could have been avoided, but me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out. It's unfortunate that it's received so much attention but its become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood. Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus the Game I love to play every night.”
