The Sacramento Kings will interview Clippers assistant coach Mike Woodson for their head coaching position, The Vertical reports.

Woodson has been granted permission to interview by the Clippers, who currently lead the Trail Blazers 1–0 in their first-round playoff series.

Woodson, 58, has previously been head coach of the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks, last with New York in 2014. He holds a career record of 315–365 in nine seasons, including five playoff trips.

The Kings fired George Karl following a tumultuous 33–49 season. The Vertical reports the team has also looked at Vinny Del Negro, Kevin McHale and Mark Jackson, all candidates with head coaching experience.

Sacramento has been regarded as one of the league’s most dysfunctional franchises the past few years, with an unpredictable but talented star in DeMarcus Cousins and volatile front office leadership under owner Vivek Ranadive. Whoever the Kings hire will be the team’s fifth coach since 2012.
