Kicks and Colors: Reebok ready to talk 'practice' with Allen Iverson sneaker

Reebok will release a "Practice" sneaker in honor of Allen Iverson's classic rant.

Kicks and Colors spotlights the variety of colorways—and the stories that go with—that brands unveil in key basketball sneakers.

Brand: Reebok

Sneaker: Question

Signature athlete: Allen Iverson

Colorway: Practice

Story: “We talkin’ bout practice?” Allen Iverson, the Question himself, posed one of the most famous press conference questions about 14 years ago during his infamous “practice” rant, now a YouTube sensation that Reebok will commemorate with a brand new Question Mid “Practice” colorway.

Taking inspiration from the Boston Red Sox hat AI wore during the press conference, Reebok brings a grey and black full-grain leather upper to match the hat’s main colors and adds red baseball stitching on the midfoot panels to highlight the stitching of the cap. A heather grey cotton textile settles at each heel, the shoe features a gum rubber outsole and his “practice” quotes—he said the word over 20 times—is transcribed on the graphic insoles. The rant was on May 7, 2002, and the Practice colorway releases May 13.
