LaVar Ball: Lonzo only working out for Lakers

LaVar Ball says son Lonzo is only working out for the Los Angeles Lakers

The father of potential NBA lottery pick Lonzo Ball says his son is only going to work out for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers have the second overall pick in next month's NBA draft and LaVar Ball says no other teams need to even bother asking for a workout.

“That’s all we working out for is the Lakers,” LaVar Ball told Lakers Nation. “Just the Lakers. There’s nobody else that we need to workout for.”

ESPN.com reported after the draft lottery that Lonzo Ball is undecided about working out for other teams.

Ball is also confident that Lonzo will be playing for the Lakers and their playoff chances for next year. Los Angeles has missed the postseason in each of the last four seasons.

“There’s no doubt in my mind whatsoever,” Ball said. “I’m going to say it again, in English, speak it into existence. In Spanish, speak it into existence. In Africa, speak that mother[expletive] into existence.”

"The Lakers make the playoffs as soon as my boy gets there, "Ball added. “I really don’t care about Rookie of the Year and all that. I just want to make sure the kid makes the playoffs. Lonzo is going to make everybody better."

Lonzo Ball averaged 14.6 points, six rebounds and an NCAA–best 7.6 assists per game in his only season at UCLA, leading the Bruins to the Sweet 16 and earning first-team AP All-American honors.
