Nets’ Kevin Durant to Miss NBA All-Star Game Due to Knee Injury, per Report

Nets forward Kevin Durant will not play in the NBA All-Star Game as he continues to recover from a sprained MCL in his right knee, according to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes.
Durant suffered the injury in a game against the Heat on Jan. 8, and he was diagnosed with an MCL sprain the following day. He has yet to play in a game since, and the latest update the Nets provided was on Jan. 24 when they said the forward would be re-evaluated a few weeks later.
Last month, Durant was voted as one of the All-Star starters. It is the 13th time Durant has made the All-Star Game in 15 seasons.
Durant was voted as a starter alongside former teammate Kyrie Irving, but after Irving’s trade to Dallas, neither player will play in the game as a member of the Nets. It is unclear who will replace Durant as a starter, but one of the reserves likely will move into the starting lineup.
On the season, Durant has played in 39 games for Brooklyn, averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
