Heat Expected to Pursue Bradley Beal If Wizards Make Him Available, per Report
Fresh off a loss in the NBA Finals, the Heat are reportedly looking to add some serious talent to their roster in the form of three-time All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal.
The Heat are expected to be “prominent suitors” should the Wizards make Beal available in a trade this offseason, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Josh Robbins. Beal and the Washington front office are said to have a mutual understanding about the star guard’s future with the organization, as the team could undergo a rebuild. If an organizational reset is imminent, the team apparently will work with Beal—who has a full no-trade clause in his contract—to send him to a contender.
Last month, the Wizards hired former Clippers general manager Michael Winger as the president of Monumental Basketball, which makes him the overseer on all aspects of operation for the Wizards, the WNBA’s Mystics and the G-League’s Capital City Go-Go. Winger later hired Will Dawkins from the Thunder as the Wizards’ new general manager.
Beal, who turns 30 on June 28, has spent his entire 11-year career with the Wizards after Washington selected him with the No. 3 pick in the 2012 draft. He averaged 23.2 points per game last season and is a career 37.2% shooter on three-point attempts. Beal signed a max contract extension last summer and is due more than $150 million over the next three years, with a $57.1 million player option for the 2026-27 season.
