James Harden Believes Relationship With 76ers Is ‘Beyond Repair’

Jason Bristol of KHOU in Houston asked 76ers star James Harden if his relationship with the franchise was beyond repair.

“I think so,” Harden told him.

The interview with KHOU came days after Harden declared that 76ers team executive Daryl Morey was “a liar” in front of a crowd of fans in China.

“I’ve been patient all summer,” Harden told Bristol. “For me, it’s just focus on what I can control and getting ready for this season.”

Harden is not expected to report for training camp after the 76ers called off trade talks involving the former all-star last week. The 76ers have not found the value they’ve been looking for in a Harden deal after he opted in to his $35.6 million player option for the upcoming season.

It was long anticipated that Harden would end up with the Clippers, as that had been a reported preferred destination for the guard.

Now with trade talks off essentially at a stand-still. Harden’s future in Philadelphia remains uncertain, and where he could play next even more of a question mark.
