James Harden’s Attitude ‘Great,’ Sixers Teammate Says He’s Been a Leader in Practice

James Harden’s arrival at 76ers training camp came with some concern and speculation of just how bad or uncomfortable it might be, but he apparently decided to take a very different approach. Harden, who’s requested a trade out of Philadelphia, was apparently “cooking” during practice while also acting as a leader.

Patrick Beverley discussed how impressive Harden was, including the approach he took as a teammate on the Pat Bev Pod during a conversation with former owner Michael Rubin.

“He was playing with us in practice and boy he was cooking ... I’m talking about the pot was out, and he was stirring that b---- up,” Beverley said.

James Harden has reportedly been traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Los Angeles Clippers.

James Harden has impressed in Philadelphia 76ers practice according to teammate Patrick Beverley, despite seeking a trade from the team.

“His attitude has been great, he’s been leading, he’s been giving advice,” Beverley continued. “You might hear all the bad s— on TV from reporter’s that’s not there, but actually being a teammate that’s there, he’s been phenomenal.”

Beverley also noted that Harden is in “great shape” and that he’s been in the weight room constantly.

The comments are noteworthy from Beverley, who didn’t appear to have any issue going deep into the details on how it’s been since Harden re-joined the team. It’s a far-cry from the guard making the Sixers “uncomfortable,” which ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski initially reported on NBA Today as Harden’s plan for practice.
