Karl-Anthony Towns Celebrates Fourth NBA All-Star Bid With Heartfelt Video

Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns was among the seven reserves named to the NBA Western Conference All-Star team on Thursday. He’ll make the fourth All-Star appearance of his career in Indianapolis on Feb. 18.

Now in his ninth NBA season, Towns posted a video to social media on Friday to thank fans and teammates for their support. The 44-second clip provided a touching retrospective of his career thus far, going back to his days as a fresh-faced top prospect from St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, N.J.

Check it out and follow Towns on a brief trip through his growth as a basketball player:

The video shows how much Towns has grown while fans have watched him progress from his one season at Kentucky (during which the Wildcats went 38–1 and advanced to the Final Four) to being the No. 1 overall selection in the 2015 NBA draft

Towns is the T-Wolves’ second-leading scorer this season, averaging 22.7 points per game to go with 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Teammate Anthony Edwards, who leads Minnesota in scoring at 25.5 points per game, was also named to the NBA All-Star team as a reserve.
