76ers News: Joel Embiid Reveals Postgame Conversation With Nikola Jokic

Heading into the Philadelphia 76ers' matchup Tuesday night, the biggest story was the battle of superstar big men. Once again frontrunners for MVP, this was the first time this year that Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic faced off against each other.
In the end, both centers proved why they are some of the top players in the NBA. However, it was the Sixers who would walk away with the victory. Led by another dominant outing from Embiid, they secured a 126-121 win over the defending champions.
After the game, Embiid and Jokic were seen hugging and speaking to one another at halfcourt. During his postgame interview, the Sixers star was asked what he said to Jokic. Embiid had nothing but high praise for his counterpart.
"I just told him he's the best player in the league," Embiid said. "He won a championship, that's the best team in the league and he's the Finals MVP so I just told him see you in two weeks and keep doing your thing and that's why you the best in the league."
Jokic fell just short of a 20-20 game, notching 25 points, 19 rebounds, and three assists against the Sixers. Meanwhile, Embiid score 40+ points for the second night in a row to go along with seven rebounds and 10 assists. This outing officially marked the end of his historic 30-point, 10-rebound streak.
Even though the two big men have been pitted against one another for years in debates, they have nothing but respect for each other. Embiid's remarks is just the latest example of one superstar praising the other for their work on the basketball court.
As Embiid said, the NBA world doesn't have to wait long to see them square off again. The Sixers will travel to Denver on January 27th for the second and final meeting between these two teams.
