76ers News: Joel Embiid's Playing Status vs Warriors Revealed

Coming off a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers Monday, the Philadelphia 76ers continue their West coast road trip on Tuesday. Next up is a meeting with Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors

One of the main storylines surrounding the Sixers right now is the status of Joel Embiid. After not being on the injury report Saturday, the reigning MVP was a late scratch against the Denver Nuggets. Embiid was also out of action against the Blazers as he continues to deal with knee soreness.

Heading into Tuesday's matchup with the Warriors, Embiid was listed as questionable. Similar to how the team has handled him in the past, he'll go through his warm-up routine and then make a final decision. After missing the last two games, Embiid will be in the lineup for the Sixers against the Warriors.

Missed time aside, Embiid is in the midst of another MVP-level season. He is currently leading the league in scoring at 36.0 PPG to go along with 11.4 RPG and 5.8 APG. That said, missed time could end up deciding if he's in the running or not. To be eligible for honors such as MVP and All-NBA, Embiid will need to play in at least 65 games in the regular season.

Embiid's value has been on full display in the games he does not play. So far this season, the team has struggled on nights he isn't in the lineup. Things have been especially rough lately as Tyrese Maxey has been sidelined as well. After Monday's loss to the Blazers, the Sixers only have three wins on the year without Embiid.

With their star player back in the lineup, the Sixers find themselves with a good chance to end their three-game losing streak.
