76ers: Three Takeaways from Win vs. Nets

In this story:
On Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers travelled to the Barclays Center for the first time all season, where they took on the Brooklyn Nets, looking to build off of their win against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
Nick Nurse's side would do just that, taking down their division rival, 121-99.
While the match had it's moments, having the lead change four times throughout the match, Philadelphia took control in the second quarter and never gave in, ballooning their largest lead to 27 points in the third quarter.
Apart from reigning MVP Joel Embiid, De'Anthony Melton and Tyrese Maxey had huge afternoons on the court, combining for 46 points and 11 assists.
With their win on Sunday, the Sixers have closed their gap to the Boston Celtics by half a game at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
What were the takeaways?
Joel Embiid's reign against Brooklyn continues
Coming into the match, Embiid always had emphatic performances against Brooklyn, averaging 29 points against the division rival.
Sunday proved that he isn't satisfied with that, as the Cameroonian superstar erupted for 32 points, his seventh 30+ point game this season, nearly putting up double digit points in each of the quarters he played in, falling short in the second quarter by one point.
Apart from his 32 points, Embiid secured 12 rebounds for Philadelphia, while also dishing the ball around, falling one assist shy of posting his first triple-double of the season.
Tyrese Maxey's offensive masterclasses continue
Over the previous few games, Maxey has taken a step back from where he once was in terms of playmaking, only averaging five assists over his previous four games.
Yet, that would change on Sunday, with the 23-year-old recording ten assists against Brooklyn, marking his fourth double digit assist game this season.
While Maxey was productive with his passing, he was lethal from beyond the arch, as the former Kentucky guard dropped six shots from down town, with three of those shots landing in the third quarter alone.
Lonnie Walker IV stays consistent
While the Sixers had plenty of players play well on the offensive side of the court, Brooklyn had a few players struggled, but Lonnie Walker IV, was not one of these players.
Walker IV started off cold in the first quarter, only managing to drop two points across the six minutes of play he received, before going off in the second, scoring nine points.
Over the course of the second half, Walker would continue to drive his points up, finishing the match with a team-high 26 points.
This total is consistent with how the 24-year-old was playing going into the match, as he was averaging 16 points across his previous five games.
