While some people believed that last year was a huge jump for Tyrese Maxey, given that he would have the entire season to share the backcourt with James Harden, it's more than apparent that this season is where the real jump has occurred.

Throughout the opening two months of the season, Maxey's scoring has been sublime, averaging 26 points per game on 46 percent shooting, while recording eight 30+ point games, including his 50-point outing against the Indiana Pacers

While his scoring has seen a definite rise, if you want to see where the 23-year-old has truly grown, look no further than his assist numbers, as he has started to fully embrace the playmaking tag by averaging six assists per game, nearly doubling his average from last season.

Given these increases, as well as becoming the second head of the Philadelphia 76ers, people have started to speculate that Maxey will finally be named an All-Star in January.

Despite the voting stage having opened on Tuesday, the Sixers guard didn't have it on his mind during Philadelphia's win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, rather he wants to focus on winning with his team.

"Right now, I'm just trying to focus on us winning, I think all of those things will play out, how they play out," said Maxey, "but the main thing right now is us winning and us getting better every single day."

Against Minnesota, Maxey dropped 35 points, including five makes from beyond the arch, while also dishing out five assists to his teammates.

With the Sixers winning on Wednesday night, Maxey feels that the team is still headed on an upward trajectory, and wants them to stay this way as they look to close out the year on a positive note.

"I feel like that's what we're doing, we're taking steps in the right direction, and we've had a pretty good December, so we keep it up."

To Maxey's point, throughout December, Philadelphia has been on top of their game, posting a record of 7-2 through Wednesday night, and with three games left in the month, they're guaranteed to leave the month with an above .500 winning percentage.
