Joel Embiid’s Injury Status for Sixers vs. Raptors on Sunday

A cryptic tweet on social media led Philadelphia 76ers fans to speculate about Joel Embiid's status on the team’s upcoming two-game road trip.
Not long after Nick Nurse revealed the big man practiced against his teammates for the first time since January, one simple post on the X platform made it seem as if Embiid’s return to action is close.
While that still might be the case, Embiid will not be returning to action this week after all.
Although the seven-time All-Star traveled with the Sixers for the first time since undergoing a surgical procedure for a meniscus injury, he was ruled out for the first of two games on the road, starting with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.
Following the loss against the Cavs, the Sixers hit the road to travel up North to take on the Toronto Raptors for the fourth and final time this season. Embiid is expected to be on the sidelines with the Sixers once again, but he won’t be in uniform.
According to Philadelphia’s injury report, Embiid remains out.

The earliest Embiid could now return is on Tuesday, when the Sixers host the Oklahoma City Thunder. At this point, the Sixers still don’t have a target date for a return confirmed.
Embiid hasn’t played since the team’s January 30 loss against the Golden State Warriors. With the regular season winding down, the Sixers have just eight games left before the NBA Play-In Tournament.
Earlier this week, Nick Nurse reiterated his confidence in the possibility of Embiid returning to action before the regular season concludes. Unfortunately, the big man isn’t ready as early as Easter Sunday in Toronto.
