Did Joel Embiid Participate in Sixers’ Shootaround Before NBA Play-In?

In this story:
For the first time, the Philadelphia 76ers are set to compete in the NBA’s Play-In Tournament. Will they have Joel Embiid for the action against the Miami Heat? His playing status remains unknown at this time.
Unsurprisingly, the Sixers listed Embiid as questionable on the injury report going into the matchup. That’s been a steady trend since the big man returned to action two weeks ago against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After missing nearly 30 games in a row due to meniscus surgery recovery, Embiid was available to play just two weeks before the regular season concluded. For every game leading up to the regular season finale, Embiid was questionable to play.
The Sixers cleared the All-Star center in all but two matchups. His absences came against the San Antonio Spurs and the Brooklyn Nets. Considering Philly needed to win out in order to improve their chances of making the playoffs, Embiid’s absence was a major gamble. Fortunately his absence didn’t result in losses.
Lately, the Sixers have found ways to win without Embiid, but they certainly won’t want to risk playing without him in a game that carries more weight.
Fortunately, Embiid is moving in the right direction as he reportedly participated in the Sixers' shootaround session on Wednesday morning.
This week, the Sixers held two practice sessions to prepare for the Miami Heat. In both sessions, Embiid was considered a full participant, which was a positive sign for his playing status on Wednesday.
Still, the Sixers aren’t ready to make the final call. While all signs are pointing towards Embiid playing on Wednesday, the MVP center remains questionable for now.
