As James Harden’s attempt to throw dirt on Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey continues, fans of the franchise are wondering what the superstar big man Joel Embiid is thinking.

Ever since Embiid landed with the 76ers out of Kansas as the third-overall pick back in 2014, the Sixers have had their fair share of controversies. The MVP big man stuck with the team through some dark times, which included the mystery of Markelle Fultz, Burner Gate, and the Ben Simmons saga.

Now, Embiid is heading into the 2023-2024 season as the reigning MVP and unsure of whether or not he’ll share the court with the NBA’s assist leader, James Harden.

When Embiid acknowledged Harden’s trade request in July, displaying an understanding of the situation, the star center noted that he was disappointed. The seven-footer added that he remains tight with Harden, despite his desire to leave, and hoped his mind could be changed.

Last week, the Sixers made it known that they plan to enter training camp with Harden on the roster. After failing to find a trade for the ten-time All-Star, the Sixers remain hopeful that Harden will fulfill his contract obligations and return to the court wearing a Sixers uniform.

But Harden’s latest public message pushes back the idea that he would be willing to play for the Sixers again. Referring to Daryl Morey as a “liar,” Harden mentioned that he wouldn’t play for any organization the President of Basketball Ops is employed by.

76ers veteran Patrick Beverley sent a message following the viral video, attempting to keep fans confident in the Sixers’ ability to continue competing at a high level despite the drama surrounding them. Philly’s veteran forward PJ Tucker took to Instagram to show support for Harden.

Meanwhile, Twitter users who happen to be Sixers fans noticed that Joel Embiid’s profile has a makeover. And for the first time, something that Embiid doesn’t say has the city talking.

Suddenly, Embiid’s Twitter profile was wiped clean of a bio and a location. The description, which used to read “Processing…,” along with the location of “Philadelphia, PA,” is no longer existent. (Note: Embiid's location has been updated to Yaoundé). Once again, Philadelphia’s self-proclaimed Twitter troll gets the people talking.

At this point, it’s well known that Embiid’s Twitter activity isn’t necessarily random. Whether he’s trying to send a message or simply troll fans for his own entertainment, Embiid has shown an interest in getting a reaction out of folks time and time again.

In this case, the changes simply come at a bad time, whether it’s accidental or not. The Sixers have plenty of drama going on, and it’s not Embiid’s first rodeo. While many might assume that the clock is ticking on The Process’s time in Philadelphia, Embiid’s Twitter activity shouldn’t be viewed as the start of the MVP growing disgruntled himself.
