While the Philadelphia 76ers may have gone on break for the All-Star weekend, following their loss to the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

This is true for everyone except the leading scorer in Wednesday's match, Tyrese Maxey, who will go to Indiana as an All-Star for the first time in his career.

Following his 30-point outing, the 23-year-old talked about his plans for All-Star weekend which includes mingling with some of the biggest names in the league.

I'm going to do a lot of talking, a lot of experiencing, and then a lot of just soaking it all in," Maxey told reporters, "honestly it's my first one, hopefully the first of many, but it means something..."

While this is Maxey's first appearance in the All-Star game, this isn't his first his first strip to All-Star weekend, as he was a part of the Rising Stars game back in 2021. The Sixers guard expressed gratitude for being in the festivities, while also highlighting that the weekend has changed over the past two years.

"They showed me my schedule earlier today, and I just looked at it and was like, well, we didn't do all this two years ago," explained Maxey, "But, you know, I'm just grateful. I'm grateful. I'm excited, I can't wait to get out there and just, you know, like I say, soak it all in, I mean, it's just a great moment for me and my family."

Just as Maxey is happy for the chance to represent himself, he's equally as happy to represent the Sixers, as reigning MVP Joel Embiid is out due to his meniscus injury which he suffered earlier on in the season.

"I'm just happy to be able to go out there and represent the organization, I know Joel goes, and I think he's gone every year for the past, I don't know, six, seven, however many years it's been, so for him not to be able to go this year because of an injury," stated the 23-year-old, "for me to be able to my first selection and to represent the Sixers, it's a good deal, and I'm happy for it."

The 23-year-old won't only be present in the All-Star game on Sunday night, as he will also partake in the Skills Challenge, which is set to take place on Saturday night, at 8 p.m. EST.
