Khris Middleton upgraded to "questionable" for Milwaukee’s game against Sacramento
There is a glimmer of hope that Khris Middleton will finally suit up when the Milwaukee Bucks clash with the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.
Per a report by Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Middleton has been upgraded to questionable for Milwaukee’s final game of their four-game California trip. It has been more than a month since Middleton has not played due to a sprained ankle, and it is the first time he was listed in the injury report as “questionable.”
Out since February 6th
Middleton has already missed 14 straight games due to a sprained ankle. He sustained the injury in the first quarter of a 106-114 loss to the Phoenix Suns on February 6th. Khris rolled his ankle after stepping on Kevin Durant’s foot after attempting a jump shot. He only played eight minutes in the loss and finished with six points, three rebounds, one assist, and a steal.
Milwaukee has gone 9-5 since Middleton suffered the injury. Apart from not being able to help the Bucks on the court, the prolonged absence has also cost Khris some cash. After missing Milwaukee’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, his 13th-straight missed game, Middleton was rendered ineligible to receive a hefty cash bonus of $1.5 million. He needed to play at least 62 games this season to receive the bonus.
Still winning despite not having Khris
Despite not having Middleton, the Bucks have managed to stay afloat and are even in second place in the Eastern Conference heading to Tuesday’s match against the Kings.
Milwaukee holds a 42-23 record, good for No. 1 in the Central Division. The Bucks have gone 10-9 under coach Doc Rivers. Their best stretch so far under the veteran coach happened after the All-Star break when they racked up six straight wins. Milwaukee lost two in a row after that streak but recovered by beating the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, 124-117.
