Michael Redd expressed fulfillment of Giannis and Khris surpassing his scoring records this season: "It feels great"

In this story:
Using his sheer power and dominance, Giannis Antetokounmpo carved history once again by registering the Milwaukee Bucks’ newest single-game scoring record in their 140-126 empathic victory over the Indiana Pacers.
Efficiently converting 20 of his total 28 shot attempts and shooting a massive 24-32 from the free-throw line throughout the evening, Giannis feasted for 64 points to break Michael Redd’s record.
An all-time performance from Giannis.

Redd has held the Milwaukee Bucks’ single-game points record for 17 years. On Wednesday night, he rightfully passed the scoring baton to a well-deserved one.
A fulfilling moment
Redd Hot initially set the mark on Nov. 11, 2006, when he torched the Utah Jazz with a 57-point masterpiece.

He couldn’t be more proud of Giannis hoisting the torch by himself for the franchise’s single-game record.
The fact that both Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton - who passed him at the 5th spot in Milwaukee’s all-time scoring lead earlier this season - have surpassed his records makes the former All-Star guard feel honored and blessed to see his two mentees finally growing up to become the players he wanted them to be.
“It feels great,” Redd said of both Giannis and Khris surpassing him. “I’ve known them since they were young guys and try to be there for them any way I could. For them to throw those numbers out and things out it feels good. They’ll pass all my records. And I want them to. I want them to. Every generation should want the next generation to exceed them, and that’s what I want.”
Did you notice?
Giannis’ groundbreaking scoring performance against Indiana was a prophecy fulfilled. Sometime in 2021, Giannis bumped briefly with Redd in the Bucks dugout.
From there, the Greek superstar playfully teased the 44-year-old that he’ll break his scoring record in the future. Redd, in his delight, can only approve what Antetokounmpo has claimed. From there, the rest is just history.
