Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo got some good news and some bad ones on Monday after tests were done on his injured right wrist. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Greek Freak's wrist did not suffer extensive damage when it got sprained in their last match against the Chicago Bulls. The bad news, however, is that Antetokounmpo may still miss some games to let the wrist heal.

Sprained ligament

Another renowned NBA insider, Adrian Wojnarowski, reports that the two-time MVP suffered a sprained ligament in his right wrist that would necessitate treatment. The diagnosis came to be after Giannis flew to New York right after the All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, Utah, to undergo a battery of tests to determine the severity of the injury.

While Giannis was a constant presence at the All-Star festivities—coaching in the Celebrity Game and the Skills Challenge—he barely participated in the All-Star Game. He started the game, threw in a soft slam dunk, and then sat out the rest of the match, which ended with Team Giannis winning over Team LeBron 184-175.

"Taking it day by day, try to get healthy," Antetokounmpo said after the game. "You know, obviously, I had the incident three days ago. I don't think it's smart in any way to, you know, play a lot of minutes in the All-Star Game."

"At the end of the day, obviously, you want to participate, you want to run up and down, joke around, have some dunks, create some work. But at the end of the day, I feel you also have to be mature. Hard decision, but mature decision to take a break here, take care of it, and hopefully I can be available for my team when they need me."

How long will Giannis be out?

It remains to be seen how long Giannis will be out with the injury. The Bucks, though, have some cushion with their 41-17 record, built on the strength of their recent 12-game winning streak. With Giannis healing, more will be asked out of fellow All-Star Jrue Holiday as well as Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez.
