Jevon Carter makes dream of playing for the Chicago Bulls come true

In this story:
Growing up in Maywood, Illinois, Jevon Carter idolized the Chicago Bulls and dreamed that one day he would play for the franchise. That dream has become a reality for the West Virginia product, who the Bulls signed to a three-year, $20-million deal in the offseason.
“I can’t even really put it in words, to be honest. Anytime I dreamed about going to the NBA as a kid, it was always in a Chicago Bulls uniform,” Carter said. “So getting that call and hearing, ‘Congratulations, you’re going to be a Chicago Bull,’ like, I don’t even know what to say. My feelings are all over the place.”

Grew up in the D-Rose era
Born in 1995, Carter was too young to experience the glory years of Michael Jordan’s Bulls. However, he was already into the Bulls when Derrick Rose was the main man in the city.
“Prime D-Rose was full in effect when I was on my dreams to basketball,” Carter shared. “Seeing him come from Chicago and go to the NBA, win MVP his third season, the way the city of Chicago was at that time, I can only imagine what it was like when Michael Jordan was around and they were winning championships.”
Willing to do what the team needs
Carter does not have the same skill set as the player he’s pegged to replace—the oft-injured Lonzo Ball. Still, what the tenacious guard has is an insatiable hunger and drive to succeed, and these attributes have propelled him to make a name for himself in the NBA despite being an undersized guard.
“Whatever they need,” Carter said when asked what he could bring to the table for the Bulls. “They got a chance to win every night. And I feel like me coming here, I’m just adding another piece to the puzzle.”
