Report states next season will define the future of the Chicago Bulls

In this story:
The Chicago Bulls will enter the 2023-2024 season with a great amount of uncertainty. Given how the team brought back the same core from last season's underachieving squad, it will be interesting to see if the Bulls will be able to make the necessary improvements in order to make some noise in the Eastern Conference. According to a report, the upcoming season will be a make-or-break campaign for this team and could decide their future as one of the league's premier franchises.
Pivotal moment
In bringing the same core back, the question is: how can things be any different for the team in terms of results? After all, the "Big 3" of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic were all relatively healthy and had stellar seasons.
Young forward Patrick Williams also played all 82 regular season games, but the Bulls still fell short of making it to the NBA Playoffs. Elias Schuster writes that the upcoming season may very well decide how the franchise's future will play out.
"I think this year will play a pivotal role in deciding EVERYONE'S future," Schuster wrote.

Shake things up
If the Bulls don't get off to a great start or fail to make the postseason, Schuster predicted that it might be the sign that the team needs to "shake things up" and make some wholesale changes, especially when it comes to their top players.
"I just think there is a world where the Bulls blow things up sometime over the next 12 months. While I wouldn't put a lot of money on a full-blown rebuild right now, I do think the organization will be left with no choice but to drastically shake things up should they miss the postseason again. After all, DeMar DeRozan is currently headed toward unrestricted free agency next summer. Let's also not forget that the Zach LaVine trade rumors didn't slow down this offseason," Schuster explained.
