If you're only watching Chicago Bulls center Andre Drummond play today, you may think he's just like any other backup big man in the league. However, you would be sorely mistaken by doing this, as Drummond was once one of the best big men in the entire league. In fact, the former UConn star was so good, that he recently asserted he's a lock for a spot in the Hall of Fame once his career is finished.

Top 20

How Drummond went from being an All-Star and one of the most dominant rebounders the league has seen to a reserve remains a mystery. Nevertheless, his body of work in his first eight seasons in the NBA—all spent in Detroit—cannot be overlooked.

While his rookie season was solid, he announced his presence in his second year in the league, averaging 13.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. He became a two-time All-Star, four-time rebounding champ, and an All-NBA team member before getting traded to the Cavaliers in 2020. He still posted robust numbers in Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, but his stints in Philadelphia and Chicago have seen Drummond end up among the reserves.

Drummond appeared on "The Comfortable Pod," and there, he declared that although the NBA has had so many talented big men, he's confident enough to put himself in the top 20.

"I ain't going to lie. There are some good-a** bigs. I've done great in my career," Drummond said. "I think I have a chance to be a Hall of Fame player due to what I've done in my career. Actually, I'm pretty sure I'm in the top 20 for being in the Hall of Fame, so I have a great chance."

Long list

Drummond's claim may upset some NBA purists, but his career numbers certainly merit consideration. Still, there's a long list of NBA greats who are also waiting to get their ticket into the Hall of Fame. This includes former Bulls great Horace Grant, who won four NBA titles—three with Chicago—and was one of the most dominant rebounders of his time.
