Coby White implores the Chicago Bulls to keep grinding and stay positive

In this story:
The Chicago Bulls have a laundry list of problems right now. From their 5-11 record to a net rating of -5.0 that ranks 23rd in the NBA, it’s pretty clear the team isn’t performing up to expectations. But young guard Coby White isn’t giving up hope just yet, imploring the Bulls to keep grinding and stay positive despite the struggles.
“Being negative and frustrated isn’t going to solve any of the problems we have,” White said.
Frustration is seeping in
Losers of five of their last six games, the Bulls are going nowhere fast. Worse, the team seems to suffer from the same problem every game—slow starts. Chicago fell behind early versus the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night but fought to tie the game and stay within striking distance in the fourth.
However, Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander proved too much to handle down the stretch, resulting in another Bulls’ loss.
“For all 48 minutes, I felt we played really hard. And to keep getting the same result is frustrating,” White said.
The University of North Carolina product has been one of the few bright spots this season for the Bulls. Installed as the starting point guard this season, White has been shooting the lights out in his last two games. He has scored 20 and 23 points in his last two contests, going a combined 11-of-20 from beyond the arc.

Keeping a positive mindset
With three more games left on this road trip, White emphasized the need to stay positive. Coming away 3-1 on this trip may be a stretch, but the crafty guard thinks anything is possible if they stay focused.
“Got to continue to grind and get better and trust each other and uplift each other and stay positive. Obviously, there were a couple of games back we should have won, but it is what it is. We have to look forward, keep grinding, and keep our head held high and we’re still here competing,” White said.
