The Chicago Bulls and fiery guard Pat Beverley were a match made in heaven. With the Bulls needing a floor general who wasn't afraid to lead and mix it up with anyone—teammate or otherwise—Beverley came in after the trade deadline and immediately gave Chicago the jolt it needed to make a late-season push to sneak into the NBA Play-In Tournament.

Sadly, though, it appears that Beverley has his eyes set on making a return to the first team that gave him a shot in the NBA—the Houston Rockets.

Rekindling partnership with James Harden

Now an unrestricted free agent, the 34-year-old intends to enjoy one more payday. During a recent episode of the Pat Bev Podcast, the pesky guard wasn't shy about his intentions to return to Houston and rekindle the partnership he had with former league MVP, James Harden.

When asked what the chances are of him returning to the Rockets, Beverley emphatically answered: "Highly likely." And when pressed about Harden's potential return to Houston, Beverley provided the same answer.

Was going to sign this season

Beverley also shared that once he got traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Orlando Magic, he already harbored thoughts of signing with Houston after getting bought out. However, he was told he wasn't going to have a prominent role in the rotation, which led to his decision to sign with the hometown Bulls.

"I think that was one of my decisions when I got traded from the Lakers," Beverley said. "Houston was one of my, you know. But they told me, 'Pat, we don't need you right now. You might not play. We need you to mentor young guys. Blah, blah, blah.' So, I still wanted to play."
