It is without a doubt that the Chicago Bulls are the most targeted team around the league in terms of trade talks so far this season. With a 5-14 record that sticks them to the 13th spot of the Eastern Conference, many league circles continue to speculate their impending direction should their downslide extend up until the next coming days.

It remains to be seen if the Bulls will finally call a teardown once their worsening state won't reach the end as both Arturas Karnisovas and Billy Donovan made a vow that they'll continue to exert their best effort to help save the team's season. But once they reach the decision to hit the reset button, an insider has noted that one of the Bulls’ important rotational pieces could be a hot name amongst rival teams.

Drummond to receive trade interests

According to NBC Sports Chicago’s K.C. Johnson, Andre Drummond reportedly “would draw interest” around the league should the Bulls decide to commence a reconstruction later this season.

“If Karnisovas really wants to tear his situation down to the studs, trading Caruso and even Andre Drummond—who league sources said would draw interest—would be on the table.”

Drummond rejoined Chicago last offseason upon picking up his $3.3 million player option this 2023-24 season. So far, he is averaging a solid 5.5 points and 6 boards in 13.1 minutes across 19 games.

Assessing Drummond’s trade situation

Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and Alex Caruso are the frequent components of trade chatter around the Bulls, but this latest insertion of Drummond is interesting at the franchise’ soon probable mindset to take a rebuild.

Drummond, 30, appears to be a highly serviceable backup big that can be plugged into any team based on his current numbers. The fact also that his contract is expiring, the Bulls might consider capitalizing his value rather than allowing him to leave in free agency.

Plenty of teams will canvass the market for size prior to the trade deadline, and it would be best for the Bulls to consider shipping Drummond once they decide to execute a late-fire sale.
