Western Kentucky's Bassey to test draft waters

Western Kentucky center Charles Bassey will declare for the NBA Draft without signing with an agent, according to the school's media-relations department.

The 6-foot-11, 245-pound Bassey after 14.6 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots for the Hilltoppers as a freshman.
Bassey was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, becoming second player in league history to win both in the same season and became second freshman in the nation since 1992, along with Kentucky’s Anthony Davis, to average 14 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and shoot 60 percent from the field
