Cleveland Takes On The Pacers, What Cavs Fans Need To Know

The Cleveland Cavaliers get ready to take on the Indiana Pacers on Sunday evening.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are on the road again for a quick two-game road trip. First up they head to Indiana to take on the Pacers.

The Pacers are going through a little bit of a rough patch as they've lost four out of their last five games. Even though they haven't been playing their best basketball, the Pacers are not a team that can be taken for granted.

Indiana has some fantastic players such as Tyrese Haliburton, who just made his first All-Star team, Buddy HieldMyles Turner, and rookie Bennedict Mathurin. They are inconsistent at times, but when this team is on, they can be one of the best-scoring teams in the NBA.

The Cavs on the other have not been playing their best basketball of the season either. They've hovered around a .500 record for the New Year and have had some embarrassing losses against undermanned teams.

This game against the Pacers could be another disappointing loss if Cleveland underestimates their competition.

One of the storylines heading into this game will be the aftermath of the Donovan Mitchell - Dillion Brooks brawl that ensued on Thursday night. It took the NBA world by storm and Mitchell had some strong words for Brooks as a player after the game.

This isn't the first time that the Cavs' shooting guard has gotten into it with an opponent though. Back in the middle of December Mitchell and Indiana's Mathurin exchanged some words that eventually turned into a huge Cavs run.

Cleveland was down 12 points when the incident happened but responded with a 15-7 run afterward.

Donovan Mitchell was able to spark a run for the Cavs and Cleveland went on a three-game winning streak after this.

Will Mitchell's energy from Thursday night do the same for the Cavs this time around? We'll see on Sunday evening when Cleveland and Indiana tip off at 5:00 PM EST.
