The 2023 NBA Draft is rapidly approaching and the rumors and reports are starting to heat up. Even though the Cleveland Cavaliers do not have a top lottery pick as they've had in years past, they can still find talent where they sit.

The Cavs currently have just one pick in this year's draft, that's the 49th overall pick in the second round. Yes, it can be difficult to find talent there, but it's not impossible and the Cleveland apparently has a focus on what kind of player they're going to take.

One of Cleveland's biggest needs this offseason is to bring in-depth at wing.

Isaac Okoro was their starting small-forward for the majority of last season, Caris LeVert was given some time there in the regular season, and Cedi Osman was a valuable piece of the bench, but was never given an opportunity to start.

Ultimately, none of them were able to stick and the small forward position appears to be Cleveland's focus for that second-round selection.

Some of the players that the Cavs have reportedly been interested in are:

  • Amari Bailey - G
  • Charles Bediako - C
  • Chris Livingston - SF
  • Emoni Bates - SF
  • Julian Strawther - G
  • Marcus Sasser - SF
  • Terquavion Smith - G
  • Tristan Vukcevic - C
  • Seth Lundy - SF
  • Sidy Cissoko - SF

There are some intriguing names here such as former five-star recruit Emoni Bates. However, the Cavs having such a late second-round pick leaves a lot of uncertainty on who will actually be available.

All will become clear on June 22 when the NBA Draft begins at 8:00 P.M. EST.
